This unit presents 4 modules:

1º Module: Sustainability in the Industry Context

- Backgroun and Relevance of Sustainability: In this session, Prof. Kohl outlines the concept of sustainability, and it's importance to the industry.

- Initiatives, regulatory aspects & sustainability reporting in the industry: In this session, Henry Nicolai Buxmann introduces prominent sustainability initiatives and their mission.

- Strategic Sustainability Management: In this session, Felix Budde introduces the fundamentals of developing a robust sustainability strategy, starting with the definition of long-term objectives aimed at enhancing the sustainability of an organization.

- Examples for sustainability solutions – practical actions & cases: In this session, Benjamin Gellert offers valuable insights into practical sustainability actions and their impacts across the sustainability dimensions.

2º Module: Guided Self-Study

- SDG Manuals & GRI Standards: During this self-study session, you should get familiar with the "SDG Compass" and "A short introduction to the GRI Standards" documents.

3º Module: Sustainability in Research & Technology Organizations

- Sustainability Management & Reporting in RTOs: In this session, Prof. Kohl highlights the drives of sustainability for Research and Technology Organizations (RTOs).

- Assessing Impact of R&D on Sustainability Goals: In this session, Florian Kidschun offers insights into various methodologies for assessing the impact of R&D activities, shares case studies of successful high-impact projects, and discuss best practices for communicating the impact of R&D initiatives.

4º Module: Guided Self-Study

- RTO Sustainability Reports & KPIs: During this self-study session, you should get familiar with the CSR Report of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.
